Automated periodic reporting authorization applications no longer possible as of 1 July 2019

As of 1 July 2019, customs will no longer process new applications for automated periodic reporting authorizations (Geautomatiseerde Periodieke Aangifte, GPA) for ‘entry in the administration for release for free circulation with a supplementary declaration’. If you are currently in possession of this authorization, it will cease to be valid after 1 July 2021. This has major consequences for companies that are currently using this authorization, as it mainly concerns businesses that make a large number of declarations.

Options as of 1 July 2021

Options as of 1 July 2021

There are two options available as of 1 July 2021:

  1. You submit a standard import declaration.
  2. The goods are registered in the declarant’s records, followed by a supplementary declaration in real time.

After submitting the standard declaration or the real-time declaration, customs can check the goods. The goods can only be moved after a check has been carried out.
